This newly restored image was created in 1954 in Milton's studio in New York City. As an alternate from one of Milton & Marilyn's most well known collaborations, this sitting, is nicknamed the "Ballerina" series. The clothing designer, Ann Klein, sent various outfits to the studio for Marilyn to wear, however all the outfits were 2 sizes too small. All of the poses in this sitting amusingly had to deal with the problem of holding up the front of the toule and satin dress. This image is available for the first time as an Advanced Continuous Tone print from the archives of the late photographer Milton H. Greene. 22x24
